camping area. Staying at this area
will give the camper the following options: 33 full service hook-up
campsites, 118 electric hook-up only campsites, and 10 walk-in tent
only campsites with no hook-ups. The Class A Camp Area
entitles the campers who are registered at this area to use the camp
commissary and game room, swimming pool, shower houses, flush-type
restrooms, trailer waste station, plus a basketball and volleyball
court. The nature center where the summer naturalist programs
begin is also located in this area.

Group Camp Area
This primitive
style camp area is designed for organized groups such as Boy Scouts,
Girl Scouts, church groups, etc. There are four group
campsites that are rented individually. Each group campsite
will accommodate up to 25 people. Only tents are permitted in
this area, no camping trailers. Water and pit-type latrines
are available. Shower house and hook-ups are not available in
this area. In the center of the Group Camp Area is a large
fire ring for group activities at night.
The entrance to the Group Camp Area is located at
the end of Ashland County Road 939, next to the Vista Point Picnic
Area. See
Mohican State Park map.
Because of the popularity
of the Class A Camp and the Group Camp areas, especially during the warm weather months,
you are highly
encouraged to reserve your campsite. Reservations can be made
six months in advance of the date that you would like to camp. You can make an
online reservation, or call 1-866-OHIOPARKS.
